According to the UEFA Sustainable Infrastructure Guidelines, sustainable stadium infrastructure includes the pitch as an integrated operational asset.

For natural turf, this means applying the right support in the right place, at the right time. Pitch care depends on energy, water, nutrition, machinery and recovery systems — all of which need to work together without compromising playing quality.

That is why, when we talk about LED, CLS LED and other technologies and resources, we should not only ask: How much energy does a system use? We should also ask: How effectively is that energy used?

☀️ August may feel early to think about grow lighting, but planning now can help ensure the right equipment is in place before the winter season begins.

🌥️ As natural light levels fall and temperatures drop, pitches may need additional light and heat to support recovery.

Now is the time to prepare before these challenges begin to affect pitch quality.

Our mobile lighting rigs are available in multiple sizes, helping teams match coverage to the specific needs of the pitch, with options suited to different budgets.

Today’s stadium environments are creating tougher growing conditions for natural and hybrid turf.

Higher stands, covered roofs and busier event calendars all help improve the venue experience.

But they can also reduce natural sunlight, restrict airflow and shorten the time available for turf recovery.

For grounds teams, the challenge is to manage plant biology inside the stadium, where light, temperature, airflow, humidity and recovery all interact.

That is why turf management is becoming more precise, more controlled and more data-informed.

Want to understand how this could work in your stadium? Send us a message.

After a major tournament, the spotlight often stays on the players, the results and the atmosphere.

But the pitch is also part of the story.

During a tournament, natural grass surfaces are exposed to far more than match play. Training sessions, media activity, rehearsals, ceremonies, operational movement and heavy footfall all place pressure on the surface.

At this level, pitch quality is part of tournament delivery, broadcast quality, player welfare and venue reputation. It also shows where expectations are moving.

Across FIFA and UEFA publications*, pitch quality is increasingly connected with measurement, sustainability, technology and wider stadium operations.

The same challenges appear repeatedly:
• more complex stadium design
• higher usage from sport and tournament operations
• climate pressure
• stronger sustainability expectations
• growing demand for data-led decision-making

For grounds teams, venue managers, consultants and technology partners, the direction is clear: natural grass needs smarter support systems to keep performing in these demanding environments.

Our role is to help venues respond with turf technology that supports natural grass in these changing conditions.
