The original idea of ride sharing was simple: if you're already traveling somewhere, share the empty seat with someone going the same way. One vehicle, multiple passengers. Less traffic, lower costs, and reduced pollution.
Over time, however, ride-sharing has evolved into a full-time profession for many people. While it has created income opportunities, it has also increased the number of vehicles on our roads. Instead of reducing traffic, many ride-sharing vehicles spend the entire day searching for passengers, adding to congestion, fuel consumption, and air pollution.
At the same time, industries such as manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and other service sectors are struggling to attract and retain workers. Many people are choosing full-time ride-sharing because it often offers higher earnings and greater flexibility than traditional jobs. This shift raises important questions about the long-term balance between transportation services and other sectors that are essential to the economy.
I believe we need to return to the original purpose of ride sharing.
That's why I created Yatriz.
Yatriz is not another ride-sharing app. It's a friendship-based commuting platform that connects office workers, students, and daily commuters who are already traveling in the same direction. Users can match their routes, chat, coordinate their journey, and share transportation costs—simply by filling the empty seats that already exist.
No additional commercial trips. No searching for passengers all day. Just smarter commuting.
