The Association for Craft Producers (ACP) is a local, not for profit, certified Fair Trade organizat

The Association for Craft Producers (ACP) was founded in 1984. Since then ACP looks back on many achievements including: building its own facilities, founding Nepali Craft Trading (NCT) to handle export business, opening the retail shop Dhukuti, founding the Fair Trade Group Nepal, achieving Fair Trade certification and adding technologies to the production process. Our Deepest Condolences and Solidarity

On this declared National Day of Mourning, we would like to express our deepest condolences to all those who lost their lives in the devastating floods, and to the families and loved ones affected by this tragedy.

As a small effort from our organization, we are humbled to have raised a fund that will be deposited into the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund as a joint contribution through our fair-trade consortium, Fair Trade Group Nepal.

This contribution brings together the support of our organization, board members, general members, artisans, a one-day salary contribution from our employees, as well as contributions from our well-wishers. We would like to thank everyone who contributed towards this initiative.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families, and everyone affected by the floods.

Together, we stand in solidarity.

Climate change is real—and Nepal is living through its devastating consequences.

Nepal’s contribution to global carbon emissions is comparatively minimal, yet Nepal continues to face some of its most devastating consequences.

From rapidly melting glaciers and unpredictable weather to catastrophic floods and landslides, the impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly impossible to ignore.

Yesterday’s devastating flood was yet another heartbreaking reminder. In just a matter of moments, entire villages and living markets were swept away. Bridges, roads, homes, and years of hard work disappeared under raging waters. Families were separated, lives were lost, and many people are still missing.

For those affected, their families, everything they had built and everything they knew was gone within seconds.

Nepal may contribute very little to global emissions, but its people are paying a very heavy price for the actions of the world.

Global warming is real. Climate change is happening now.

It is not a distant threat or a problem for future generations. It is happening in our mountains, our rivers, our villages, and our homes. This is not just about climate. It is about people, lives, homes, livelihoods, and our future.

Let us not wait until the next disaster to acknowledge it. The world must act—and it must act now. 🌍

Hand Thrown Pottery is one of the traditional craft skills our organization has continuously worked to preserve, revive, and promote by combining traditional techniques with contemporary designs and product development. This entirely handmade process involves shaping natural clay through skilled craftsmanship, followed by careful drying, firing, glazing, and finishing to create durable, functional, and artistic ceramic products.
Ceramic craftsmanship requires patience, precision, and years of skill development. Every piece reflects the artisan’s hand, making each product unique in its own way. Beyond creating beautiful handmade products, ceramic making also helps preserve traditional knowledge, generate sustainable livelihood opportunities for artisans, and promote environmentally conscious production rooted in fair trade values.

Hand Felting is one of the traditional craft skills our organization has worked to revive and re-introduce it. This entirely handmade process involves carefully shaping and binding wool fibers using water, soap, and skilled handwork to create durable and beautiful textile products.

With this versatile craft, artisans are able to develop a wide range of products including home décor, accessories, ornaments, and lifestyle items. Beyond creating sustainable handmade products, hand felting also helps preserve traditional craftsmanship, generate livelihood opportunities for artisans, and encourage environmentally conscious production practices.
