Today, Nepal has lost one of its brightest stars, and the world has lost a true legend. Nirmal โNimsโ Purja MBE was not just an extraordinary mountaineerโhe was a dreamer, a leader, a former Gurkha and British Special Forces soldier, and a man who dedicated his life to proving that the impossible is only impossible until someone dares to achieve it.

Born in a humble family in Nepal, rose through unwavering determination, discipline, and courage. He first served with honor as a Gurkha soldier before becoming a member of the elite British Special Forces. Yet, it was in the mountains where he inspired the world.
His historic Project Possible, where he climbed all 14 of the worldโs 8,000-meter peaks in just 6 months and 6 days, shattered records that many believed could never be broken. He later became one of the key climbers in the first successful winter ascent of K2, a feat long considered one of the greatest unsolved challenges in mountaineering.
But Nims Daiโs greatest achievement was not only the records he setโit was the hope he gave to millions. He taught us that no dream is too big, no mountain too high, and no obstacle too difficult when faced with courage, preparation, and an unbreakable spirit. His famous message, โNothing is impossible,โ was not just a quote; it was a way of life. He didnโt simply say those wordsโhe lived them every single day.
He carried the Nepalese flag to the highest places on Earth with immense pride, showing the world the strength, resilience, and excellence of Nepali climbers. He changed how the world viewed Himalayan mountaineering and inspired countless young people to believe in themselves, no matter where they came from.
