great read from the one and only Andrew McLean-

Some people make New Year's resolutions focusing on diets and exercise. Others make plans on how to make the world, the backcountry skiing world included, a better place. Ski mountaineering Andrew McLean dishes on the latter.

well we are in full summer mode here at SME with our "summer" brand, Ultimate Direction, VFuel Endurance and PocketFuel Naturals, it is great to see a hardy few still maxing out the skiing and putting their MOVEMENT SKIS - official page and PLUM - 100% made in chez nous binding to use here in New Zealand. Thanks for the photos Hayden and Stu.

Joe Harrison took his MOVEMENT SKIS - official page Response and PLUM - 100% made in chez nous for a walk up to Mt Rolleston's Low Peak, in Arthur's Pass National Park a few weeks back-
"Finally got my new skis out this weekend (Rolleston and Tarn Basin), skied everything from week old powder to crust to slush to perfect corn and they performed great, so light and easy to tour/carry. Only issue was they struggled on crust, but show me a ski that skis crust well ;-)
Conditions in Tarn Basin are OK but getting thin fast, Rolleston/Otira Valley on the other hand is loaded and in great condition (ski to foot bridge), so will be heading back there asap."
