CARPARK UPDATE

Hi everyone, a little update on the carpark; thank you all for your patience and cooperation, the weather is holding us up slightly but we are doing the best we can. Currently, half of the carpark outside is blocked off, so where possible, please park straight through towards behind the playground and . We apologise for any inconvenience and thanks again.

Great to see a life saving new addition to Old Factory Corner right outside Connings.

A huge thank you to everyone that has donated to the AED fundraiser! By coincidence the Appleby Volunteer Fire Brigade decided to donate their AED to us, after upgrading their own.

So after purchasing a brand new battery and pads, we are pleased to say we now have a defibrillator right outside our entrance that is accessible to the public 24/7.

What's even better is that the remaining money will be donated back to the Appleby Volunteer Fire Brigade! Just over $1000.

It's great to see the entire community working together to keep everyone safe. Thanks everyone!

Driveway Upgrade Update:
The driveway sealing is scheduled to start tomorrow morning, weather permitting. Please be sure to take extra care entering and exiting the premise.

We're pleased to announce that we have just received council approval to move forward with permanently sealing sections of our driveway/car park.

We're aiming to reduce the potholes before more rain comes. Sealing is likely to begin early next week, but we will keep you posted with further details.

We understand that our driveway has been a hot topic, but appreciate your continued patience and understanding.

Why 'Old Factory Corner'?

Well, back in 1915 during World War One, the corner site between McShane Road and Appleby Road (now Highway) was home to the original Waimea Co-Operative Dairy Company. The cheese manufacture changed hands a couple of times, but farmers from around the region always referred to it as Old Factory Corner, hence the name.
