The Ashburton Model Train Show in on at the Tinwald Memorial Hall, 10 Graham Street, Tinwald, Ashburton, on the 6 & 7 July 2024.
We will have our shop at the Train Show with a range of scenic products for sale.
The St Joseph’s Home and School will be selling food during show times.

We're Celebrating!!!!

Over the weekend of 18th & 19th Nov, we celebrate the 50th Anniversary since the Opening of our Heritage Railway in 1973, by operating our 3 Steam Locos: A64, K88, Ja1260 along with Railcar Rm50 during each day. A rare chance to experience the grand old days of Steam and Rail Travel! Each Ticket purchased gives the holder unlimited Rides on the day of Purchase: Adults $12, Child $6 (under 17 years), Family $30 (2A, 2C) & preschoolers free.
Onsite view Stationary Engines, Vintage Machinery and Vintage Cars or use the Shuttle (gold coin donation per person) to our display area where you'll find Traction Engines, Chaff cutting and Threshing Mill displays, Clydesdale Horses, Modern and Vintage Implements and Machinery.
Food will be available both in the village area and display area. For the children, the Popup Playground team will have inflatable fun (weather permitting), with vintage games to try.

Parking: in our Car-park, with a shuttle service to the display area for a gold coin donation per person or direct entry to the Display area is via the Ashburton Vintage Car Club - 86 Maronan Road, which you'll find 500m beyond the Museum site (will be sign posted).
Our dedicated voluntary members continue the work of the founding Members, both past and present, and proudly keep the Museum site and all the assets of The Plains Railway, a top attraction for visitors to Mid Canterbury to enjoy!
