So proud of our sister company, George Walkers Office Furniture, for supporting the Youngonsetdementiacollective Retro Lounge, a space designed to inspire creativity, connection and belonging for people living with younger onset dementia.π
Well done to everyone involved in bringing this wonderful project to life, and thank you to the Young Onset Dementia Collective for the important work you do in our community.
Please take a moment to read their post below and show your support. ππ
Something special is taking shapeβ¦
With just days to go until the very first YODC Retro Lounge Session, weβre feeling incredibly grateful.
A huge thank you to the amazing local community who have generously donated an incredible range of art and creative supplies to help bring this space to life. From paints, brushes and canvases to pens, pencils and craft materials, these gifts will help create opportunities for creativity, conversation, connection and fun for people living with younger onset dementia.
A very special thank you to Jo Pilkington from First Scene, who has championed the Retro Lounge from the very beginning, and to this wonderful group of local business and community leaders who have so generously supported the project. Pictured (left to right) are Jo Pilkington (First Scene), David Speedy (Direct Office Products Depot), Kim Watts (General Manager, Rosebank Business Association), Claudia Butwell (Online Branch Manager, Gordon Harris Art supplies), and Michelle Maitland (Owner, George Walkers Office Furniture).
Your generosity is helping create far more than an activity space. Youβre helping build a place where people living with younger onset dementia can continue to create, contribute, connect and belong.
We canβt wait to open the doors for our very first session and begin making memories together.
From all of us at Young Onset Dementia Collective, thank you. Your kindness and belief in what weβre creating means more than you know. π
