Cantina Valle Isarco is Alto Adige’s youngest cooperative winery. Founded in 1961 by 24 individual grape growers, membership has now grown to 130 vignerons cultivating 150 hectares on what is the northernmost territory of Italian viticulture. The Isarco Valley provides ideal growing conditions for white grapes, which make up 97 per cent of the production at Cantina Valle Isarco. The winery specialises in varietals such as Kerner, Sylvaner, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Gewürztraminer. Cool nights and warm days during harvest time produce fresh, fruity white wines with excellent minerality. The vineyards are on steep slopes at high altitudes of up to 1000 metres above sea level. The vines’ roots stretch deep into the soil to absorb precious nutrients. Here, where mountain tops meet Mediterranean hills, Cantina Valle Isarco produces wines that are full of energy and personality, thanks to different soils, terrains, exposures and microclimates.

What are you doing this Thursday between 5pm and 8pm?

Well - if you happen to be in Auckland - we are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to you to come along to our Christmas range tasting.

If you attended last year’s, you’ll know this is an event not to be missed. With over 30 wines open for tasting, there will be something for everyone with special festive pricing on the night.

We will have at least 4 Champagnes open for tasting, many from small, high-quality, family-owned growers to kick things off, along with new Wine Direct favourites sparkling wines from De Chanceny.

In addition, other Wine Direct classics will be scattered around the shop for tasting, the likes of Domaine Grand Veneur, Domaine Saint Damien, plus fabulous Roses from Provence and beyond. We will also be digging into the cellar and opening a number of fine wines from the greatest fine wine regions at special Christmas pricing on the night.

This is the perfect opportunity to do some early Xmas shopping, sorting out your corporate gifts or just shouting yourself some delicious wine.

It’s that time again! We would love to extend an invitation to you all to come along to our new Summer Range Tasting on Thursday 21st November, from 5-8pm.

For those of you who have attended our Xmas and Summer/Winter range tastings before, you’ll know this is an event not to be missed.

With over 30 wines open for tasting, there will be something for everyone with special pricing on the night. We have limited space here, but don’t want you to miss out, so if you’d like to attend, please RSVP as soon as you can (by DM, or email/phone). If we’ve already got your name down - we’ll see you there!

We will have a range of Wine Direct classics open, the likes of Grand Veneur Saint Damien, plus fabulous new arrivals from across Europe. To round things out, we will have some fine wine gems at special pricing on the night also.
