How gorgeous are these Dotterel cups made by the talented Deon Hendricks!

“This design and glaze is inspired by the beautiful Dotterel bird found on New Zealand beaches during nesting season during October and November. A mum and baby chick can be found on the mug. The birds are surrounded by a speckled/spotted matte glaze on the exterior of the mug, creating a lovely smooth-to-touch finish. The intererior has a glossy opaque white glaze adding to the visual effect and ensuring the mug, is functional, durable and food safe. Instead of a handle, a saucer is provided to rest the warm mug on initially, and to complete the ritual of a relaxed drinking experience.
The design reflects the beachy sands, speckled plumage, and eggs of these cute locals, and creates a lovely spotted and textural visual effect. A local New Zealand speckled clay, manufactured in Nelson, finishes off the look of these unique handmade mugs - making it the perfect gift or collectors piece.”
