Parking - update - Over the past 18 months, we’ve been fortunate that Foodstuffs has allowed the car parks around The Point to be available for everyone to use. We really appreciate the way our community has embraced this.

Recently, however, we’ve noticed more and more vehicles being left in these spaces all day by people working in the town centre or catching buses into town. Unfortunately, this means everyone's customers are often struggling to find a park when they need one.

A reminder that these are private customer car parks. The parks in front of Liquorland are 15-minute parking, while all other customer parks are 90-minute parking.

Over the coming week, we’ll be quietly monitoring the area and placing friendly reminder notices on vehicles where needed. From Tuesday, 11 August, New World will be open - let's support them by not clogging up their carpark!

Thanks for helping us ensure there’s always a park available for people visiting The Point and the surrounding businesses. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Really excited to welcome our new neighbours Scott and Ashleigh and their family with New World Te Atatū to our neighbourhood. Can’t wait till they open their doors in August.

Kia ora Te Atatū Peninsula,

We’re Scott and Ashleigh, and we’re excited to introduce ourselves as the new owners of New World Te Atatū. 👋

We’ve recently moved back to Auckland with our family, including our two young kids, Barry and Bella, after spending the past five years operating New World Tawa in Wellington. Before that, we owned a Four Square in the Bay of Islands. While we’ve loved every community we’ve been part of, Auckland has always been home for us, and we couldn’t be more excited to be back and settling into Te Atatū.

Taking on the local supermarket is a big responsibility, and one we take seriously. Our focus is simple: to run a great store for the Te Atatū Peninsula community. That means fresh food done well, shelves you can rely on, a clean and easy shopping experience, and a friendly team who genuinely care.

We’ve already started building a fantastic team and working closely with Foodstuffs to get everything ready, but we know the real work begins the moment the doors open.

Beyond the store, we’re keen to be active members of the community too, supporting local schools, clubs and businesses wherever we can. We’re looking forward to getting to know you, learning what matters most to this community, and playing our part.

You’ll see us around the store, so please feel free to stop and say hello or share any feedback.

'Kia ora Te Atatū whānau - a message to you all from our Te Atatū Peninsula Community Centre and Te Atatū Peninsula Librarykaimahi.

As we begin a new day and a new week, we invite you to join us at the Community Hub tomorrow morning at 8.45am for Karakia and mihi to reset and resettle the wairua of our space. This is a time for healing and solidarity, especially following the unsettling events of Saturday.

We want to take a moment to express our deep gratitude for the outpouring of support from our community, both during and after the incident.

If you come with love, you are welcome to join us in this space of peace and reflection. Let’s stand together and lift each other up as we continue to move forward in resilience and unity.

Te Atatu Peninsula Business Association TAPBA has embarked on a project to create a Te Atatū Peninsula Masterplan. We have received funding from the Henderson Massey Local Board and have engaged an Urban Designer to undertake Stage One. We are seeking feedback from businesses.
