First day of spring and I feel like I’m standing on the starting line waiting for the clappers to go off 😅

The spring goodies you see here in these bouquets will be a little later for me this season because I went on a wee midwinter adventure with a bestie, and before I left I had a choice. Pull up the dahlia field, all 3,500 of them, some had been in the ground going on 3 years 😩 or plant the hardy annuals…

The dahlias of course won. Divas that they are. Dahlias!! Aghh Love hate love relationship 😂

So the poor hardy annuals sat outside the tunnel houses for 6 weeks waiting for my return 🫠😅

They’re all in now and growing away, just a few weeks behind where I’d normally have them. But that’s one of the things I love about growing. Every season is different. You make your choices, learn a few more lessons and just start again from where you are. Really though, the only person you’re in a race with is yourself.

So here’s to spring and everything that’s coming 🌷🌸💕

Tulip season has officially started here on the farm 😍🌷 And this year I’m doing something a little different, especially for our locals here in Franklin.

For four Fridays, I’ll have 15 freshly harvested tulips ready for you each week, grown right here on the farm. Each week will be a different mix of the beautiful varieties and colours I’m growing this spring. Farm pickup in Paerata or local Friday delivery.

Spring Tulip Subscriptions are now open. They’d also make a pretty lovely gift for someone who could do with four Fridays of flowers 🌷 I’m excited for you to join in our gorgeous but brief tulip season.

This Friday and Saturday I’ll be roadside with fresh, seasonal bouquets - think dahlias, roses, snapdragons, zinnias, lisianthus and so many more pretties - grown right here on the farm and wrapped ready to go. We’ve also sourced classic red roses for those who love a traditional Valentine ♥️

What a weekend 🌸 🫶🏻
The support from our community over Mother’s Day was incredible—thank you to everyone who stopped in and picked up a bunch of blooms to celebrate their mums.
We had the best time, and it really does take a village. Friends pitching in, family dropping off soup, helping behind the scenes… we’re so grateful for every bit of help and support that made it all happen.
It was a true team effort—and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Same time, same place next year—hopefully with even more beautiful blooms to share. 💐
