TWIN SOULS

From the fire I became entwined
with the soul I tried to save.
As I reached out to save him ,
the roof upon us caved...
That day our souls became entwined
As his body burned away...
With no way out for his soul to find
inside of me, he stayed.
I am not frightened of his spirit;
the One which dwells within;
The question begs ...I hear it;
' Where do you end...and I begin?'
There are memories that I recall,
of things that are not mine;
Like a wedding in September,
and an old love - so sublime.
Melodies sound inside my head...
so old, and yet so new;
Secrets told and words new said...
odd visions come to view.
His de'ja vu cones into play,
upon a daily basis;
Yet never can my mind betray,
the faces or the places.
My life it changed completely,
in the batting of an eye;
My mind it holds distinctly...
his facts..I can't deny
My mind knows all his dirty secrets...
that he might wish to hide...
His, 'skeletons in the closet ',
all exposed to my mind's eye.
To some this would seem a gift...
to others, be a curse...
Yet to me as I must insist,
it could be so much worse...
But it leaves me with one question,...
the answer I can't see;
By what heavenly intercession,
Does his soul reside in me?
