The wait is over. πŸŽ‰

Cook Like Kajii has landed β€” BUTTER by Asako Yuzuki, paired with a floral apron by Francfranc, in a limited-edition bundle we've been building for weeks.

Kajii cooks her way into everything in this story, and food carries the whole book. This apron isn't just a nod to that β€” it's something you'll actually reach for on a Tuesday night.

Only a handful of sets available, in pink or blue.

πŸ“– Reviews from readers in Japan.

The Devotion of Suspect X is loved by readers around the world β€” but this one's about what Japanese readers are saying. We translated a few reviews from Amazon Japan, and one thing kept coming up: they didn't expect to feel this much from a crime novel.

This edit's September & October pick, paired with a booklet and a 4&1 uni Jetstream.

πŸ“–βœ¨ The September & October Box is here.

This edition, we're diving into "The Devotion of Suspect X" by Keigo Higashino β€” a #1 bestselling mystery that reads like a crime novel and lands like a love story. A "perfect" alibi. A detective who refuses to let it go. An ending that stays with you long after the last page.

Alongside the book, you'll find:

βœ’οΈ The uni Jetstream 4&1 β€” four colors and a mechanical pencil in one pen, in a surprise color (Bordeaux Red, Light Pink, or Navy) chosen at random for you

πŸ“ "A Note from Japan" β€” this edition's personally designed booklet, written from my desk here in Auckland, with the story behind this month's pick and a few extras connecting the book to real Japanese culture

One Japanese novel. One personally designed booklet. One exceptional item, chosen to match the story. Delivered to your door every two months.

πŸ“¦ Available from September 1st

Why I Don't Talk About "Value for Money" πŸ’Œ

There are so many subscription boxes out there, but I don't really want to sell mine the way a lot of them do β€” "$80 worth of goodies for just $50." That's not quite who I am.

What I hope this box carries isn't about price β€” it's the care that goes into choosing each item myself, as someone Japanese. I'd love for it to find its way to people who feel the same way about that. πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

If that resonates with you, I'd love to have you along. 🀍

Keigo Higashino doesn't just write mysteries β€” he writes about the human heart. πŸ“šπŸ–€

From a love that goes to terrifying lengths, to a small shop that mends broken hearts across time, these 5 books completely changed how I see storytelling.

πŸ“– The Devotion of Suspect X
πŸ“– Journey Under the Midnight Sun
πŸ“– The Miracles of the Namiya General Store
πŸ“– Malice
πŸ“– The Keeper of the Camphor Tree

I picked 10 of my favourite Keigo Higashino novels that have been translated into English. πŸ“š

Mapped out by recommendation and readability, so hopefully it's useful if you're looking for where to start.

There are actually a lot more of his books translated too β€”
definitely worth checking out!
