If you’ve invested in a good quality pump, one of the simple things you can do to protect it is install an inline pump filter. If you rely on tank water you know how much the weather impacts both supply and what happens to the water in your tank. Filters provide your first line of defence against unwanted contaminants (we always recommend you include UV sterilisation in your set up too). However, if your gutters and roof aren’t clean, or the weather has been particularly wild and your tank has more than the standard amount of ‘floaties’ you need to keep on top of filter maintenance to make sure they aren’t working overtime and wearing out.
