❤️ A morning at Duke House

Last Wednesday, some of our wonderful Hope Shop volunteers swapped the shop floor for a little field trip to Duke House, and what a morning it was!

Diane, Bibi, Jacque and Ange were treated to a tour with Tina, a delicious morning tea (including a homemade cake!) and the chance to see first-hand the incredible things happening at Duke House.

There’s been so much positive change since Duke House first opened, from the beautiful therapy rooms and sensory garden to the vegetable garden, barn and, of course, the animals. 🐴🌱

One of the highlights was discovering the amazing dressing room Romy and Grayson have created in the barn, where young people can dress up in outfits donated by our Hope Shop. And yes, there has even been a karaoke session in some particularly spectacular Hope Shop ensembles! 😂🎤

It was such a lovely opportunity for our volunteers to see how the Hope Shop contributes to the wider work of Youth in Transition and the difference that support makes for young people.

A huge thank you to Tina for the wonderful tour and morning tea, and to our Hope Shop volunteers for everything you do to support Youth in Transition. ❤️

💛 COULD YOU SPARE A FEW HOURS A WEEK? 💛

We’re looking for friendly, community-minded volunteers to join the team at The Hope Shop in Manly Village, with a particular need for Wednesday and Thursday shifts. 🛍️

No retail experience needed. We’ll give you all the training and support you need. You’ll help customers find great pieces, sort and display our gorgeous preloved clothing and accessories, and keep the shop looking fabulous.

✨ Just one 2–3 hour shift a week
✨ Meet people & make new friends
✨ Be part of a warm, welcoming team
✨ Make a genuine difference in the lives of young people

And there’s an even bigger reason to volunteer: every purchase at The Hope Shop helps fund free counselling, mentoring and support through Youth in Transition (YIT). 💛

If you’ve got a few hours to spare on a Wednesday or Thursday, we’d love to have you on the team!
