Spring is here, and thanks to everyone who joined us for our 1st Spring Beyblade X Tournament Auckland | Season 3

We had 26 players competing under BCS Zero, our unrestricted format where players can use any legal Takara Tomy Beyblade X parts, with no duplicate parts within their deck.

We also continued experimenting with different stadium environments throughout the tournament.

The first three rounds of Swiss were played in the BX-32 Wide Stadium, before switching to the traditional BX-10 Extreme Stadium for the remaining three rounds and the finals.

Players are getting increasingly familiar with the Wide Stadium, but switching stadiums halfway through qualifying adds another element to the tournament. What works in one stadium doesn't necessarily translate perfectly into the other, so players had to adapt their approach as the day progressed.

And this tournament gave us a result we've been waiting a long time to see.

👑 SWISS KING

Shahin Luke Ariyazand takes Swiss King!

Shahin put together an excellent qualifying run, finishing 5 and 1 to take the number one seed heading into the Top 8.

Luke Glover and Luke Reyes also finished 5 and 1, making the top of the qualifying standings extremely competitive.

For Shahin, it was another big step forward after only making his BBNZ debut last month.

🏆 Vishant Singh

FINALLY!

After nearly two years of competing at BBNZ, multiple podium finishes and several occasions where he came incredibly close, Vishant Singh has finally done it.

His first BBNZ tournament victory and his first tournament win ever.

Vishant qualified fifth with a 4- 2 record, meaning there was still plenty of work ahead of him once the Top 8 began.

He defeated Mahi Singh 4 to 0 in the opening round before facing Swiss King Shahin Ariyazand in the semifinals.

Another 4-0 victory sent Vishant into the Grand Final.

Waiting for him was Luke Reyes.

And after all those previous attempts, second- and third-place finishes, Vishant wasn't letting this opportunity slip away.

Vishant defeated Luke 4 to 0.

Three playoff matches.

Three victories.

12 points scored. Zero conceded.

After spending so long knocking on the door, Vishant finally kicked it open.

Sometimes you just have one of those weekends where everything seems to come together.

Congratulations Vishant. This one has been a long time coming.

Luke nearly made it back-to-back gold medals.

After winning our Final Winter Tournament on 29 August, Luke returned and immediately put himself in contention again.

He finished Swiss 5 and 1, defeated Dani Kerrigan 4 to 0 in the Top 8 and then survived an incredibly close 4 to 3 semifinal against Shane Laurie.

Vishant ultimately stopped the back-to-back attempt in the Grand Final, but consecutive Grand Final appearances with a gold and silver are another strong run from Luke.

Another podium for Shane.

After qualifying seventh at 4 and 2, Shane defeated second seed Luke Glover 4 to 2 before taking Luke Reyes all the way to 4 to 3 in the semifinals.

He then faced Swiss King Shahin Ariyazand for third and took the match 4 to 2 to secure another BBNZ podium.

⭐ Tournament Highlights

It was also great to have Isaac Roan back competing with us.

Isaac has been away from BBNZ tournaments while focusing on university, so it was good to see him find some time to return and get back into competitive Beyblade.

Shahin Luke Ariyazand continues to be another interesting player to watch. After only making his BBNZ debut recently, he's already gone from newcomer to Swiss King, finishing ahead of a field containing some of BBNZ's most experienced competitors.

And once again, the Wide Stadium gave everyone something different to think about.

We've now had several events using the BX-32 for 1v1 competition, and players are becoming much more comfortable adapting their strategies to the extra space before switching back to the BX-10.

Spring has started, and we already have another new name on the winners list.

We've watched Vishant come close plenty of times over the past two years. Second places, third places and deep tournament runs, but the gold had always managed to stay just out of reach.

Not this time.

Three playoff matches. Three wins. 12 to 0.

Sometimes persistence eventually gets rewarded.

Congratulations again to Vishant on his first-ever tournament victory, and thank you to everyone who competed and helped us kick off another season of Auckland Beyblade.

Two more tournaments are officially in the books! Following the battles of 15 August and 29 August, the BBNZ Season 3 Rankings have been updated!

Season 3 has also reached another huge milestone with 103 Bladers now officially ranked! 🔥

The leaderboard is tightening, the challengers are climbing, and with the next tournament coming up on 12 September, every opportunity to earn EXP matters as the road to the BBNZ Grand Prix continues.

Owen makes the biggest move in S Class, climbing two positions into the Top 3 with 615 EXP!

Only 85 EXP separates Owen from Alex, while George Westerlund sits just 15 EXP behind Owen at #4. The fight for S Class is getting extremely tight.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Final Winter Beyblade X Tournament Auckland

This event was played under BCS Zero, our unrestricted format where players can use any legal Takara Tomy Beyblade X parts, with no duplicate parts within their deck.

We also brought back the Wide Stadiums for the first four rounds of Swiss. Although these stadiums are designed for 3-player battles, we used them for 1v1 matches, giving everyone another opportunity to adapt to a different playing environment.

It's been good seeing players become more comfortable with the Wide Stadiums and enjoy the different challenges they bring. With six players making their BBNZ debuts, almost half the field was also experiencing their first tournament with us.

Owen Garrett takes Swiss King!

Owen finished qualifying with a 7 and 1 record, taking the number one seed ahead of Luke Reyes, who also finished 7 and 1.

His only loss came against Luke in Round 3. From there, Owen won his remaining five qualifying matches to finish at the top of the standings.

Another strong qualifying performance from one of BBNZ's most consistent competitors.

Luke finally gets his gold!

After finishing second at our previous tournament on 15 August, Luke came back two weeks later and went one better.

He finished qualifying 7 and 1, defeated Ryan Thompson 4 to 1 in the semifinals, and then faced Owen Garrett in the Grand Final.

Luke had already beaten Owen during Swiss, and he repeated the result when it mattered most, taking the final 4 to 0.

This was Luke's first gold medal of 2026, and his first tournament victory since the inaugural BBNZ Grand Prix.

After consistently putting himself in contention, it was good to see him back on the top step of the podium.

Owen continues his strong run of results, adding another Swiss King title and Grand Final appearance to his season.

After finishing qualifying 7 and 1, he defeated Michael Lord 4 to 2 in the semifinals before meeting Luke in the final.

Another tournament where Owen was right in the mix from start to finish.

Defence Lord living up to his name.

Michael committed to a full Defence deck and took it all the way to the podium.

Defence types are often considered underclassed compared with Attack and Stamina in the current Beyblade X environment, but Michael has continued sticking with the playstyle he enjoys rather than simply following the META.

He finished qualifying 5 and 3, reached the Top 4, and then defeated Ryan Thompson 4 to 0 in the third place match.

A great result for Michael and a good reminder that understanding your own deck and how to use it can be just as important as following the latest trends.

⭐ Tournament Highlights

A special mention goes to Ryan Thompson, who made his BBNZ debut after travelling all the way up from Hamilton.

For his first ever Beyblade tournament, Ryan put together an impressive 6 and 2 qualifying record, finished third in Swiss, and reached the Top 4.

Making the playoffs in your first tournament is already a strong result. Doing it against experienced competitors and finishing fourth overall makes it an even better introduction to competitive Beyblade.

We also saw plenty of players continuing to adapt to the Wide Stadiums. The larger playing area changes how battles develop, and it was good seeing everyone experiment, adjust, and enjoy something different from our usual stadium setup.

Zero-10 Beyblade X Tournament Auckland | Season 3 | Results

Yes, we had another tournament today, but we're still catching up on our previous results! 😅

So before we get into today's tournament, let's rewind to 15 August and see what happened at Zero 10 Round 2...

Thanks to everyone who joined us!

This tournament was played under BCS Zero, our unrestricted format where players can use any legal Takara Tomy Beyblade X parts, with no duplicate parts within their deck.

With 14 players attending, we decided to make the most of the smaller field and give everyone as much competitive Beyblade as possible.

Instead of our usual six rounds of Swiss, we were able to run a full 13 round round robin qualifying stage.

That meant everyone played everyone.

Every player got 13 ranked matches in roughly three hours before we even reached the finals. No avoiding difficult matchups and no relying on favourable pairings. By the end of qualifying, every player had faced every other competitor in the tournament.

The size of a tournament doesn't define the quality of the experience. Sometimes a smaller field means more matches, more opportunities to adapt, more time to learn your opponents, and ultimately more Beyblade for everyone.

14 players. 13 rounds. Everyone played everyone.

And after all of that, the top of the standings was incredibly close.

Paolo Garcia takes Swiss King!

After facing every other player in the tournament, Paolo finished qualifying with an impressive 10 and 3 record to take the number one seed heading into the finals.

Bailey Sharma also finished 10 and 3, making the battle for the top spot incredibly close after 13 rounds.

What a way to make a return.

Cameron hasn't been able to attend many tournaments recently after welcoming his newborn and spending time with Jenni and the family, but when the opportunity came up to compete again, he made the most of it.

Cameron finished qualifying 9 and 4 before defeating Swiss King Paolo Garcia 4 to 1 in the semifinals and Luke Reyes 4 to 2 in the Grand Final.

After some time away from competition, Cameron comes straight back and takes his second BBNZ gold medal of 2026.

He clearly hasn't lost his touch.

Luke put together another strong tournament, finishing qualifying with a 9 and 4 record before defeating Bailey Sharma 4 to 0 in the semifinals to advance to the Grand Final.

He eventually fell to Cameron 4 to 2, but another Grand Final appearance puts Luke right back amongst the top performers.

After taking Swiss King with a 10 and 3 record, Paolo's run for gold was stopped by Cameron in the semifinals.

That left one final battle against Bailey for the podium, and it couldn't have been much closer.

Paolo eventually took it 4 to 3 to finish third overall.

Bailey Sharma deserves another mention after putting together one of the strongest qualifying performances of the day.

Bailey finished 10 and 3, matching the Swiss King's win loss record across all 13 rounds and qualifying second overall.

The Top 4 was incredibly tight.

After everyone had played everyone, only one match separated all four finalists.

We’re a little late with this one, but we’re officially caught up! The results from our 18 July and 1 August tournaments are now in the books, bringing Season 3 to a massive 97 ranked players.

With the next battle happening tomorrow, the leaderboard is tightening, the challengers are climbing, and standing still is becoming increasingly dangerous.

🔴 Ryan Smith continues his reign at Rank #1 and pushes his Season 3 total to a monstrous 805 EXP. The throne belongs to Ryan, and the gap is getting serious.

🔴 Alex Billingsnow holds Rank #2 with 620 EXP and has forced his way back into the highest level of the rankings.

🔴 George Westerlund sits at Rank #3 with 600 EXP while his legendary five-month Mount Fuji training arc continues. George may be away training with the Beyblade Senseis, but his 600 EXP is still enough to hold S-Class for now.

Shane Laurie is only 20 EXP behind him, which means S-Class has become merciless. There are only three positions at the top, and everyone underneath them is hunting for one.

Zero-10 Beyblade X Tournament Auckland | Season 3 | Results!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for today's Zero 10 Tournament!

This event was played under BCS Zero, our unrestricted format where every legal Takara Tomy Beyblade X part is available. With the release of Glory Valkyrie, this tournament allowed everyone to put the newest release to the test and see whether it could live up to the hype.

The level of play was incredibly high from the very first round. There were plenty of upsets throughout the day, but what stood out even more was the sportsmanship shown by everyone. Win or lose, players kept things positive, respected their opponents, and helped make this one of the best atmospheres we've had at a BBNZ tournament.

Vyrxzavier Fumio Antipolo delivered a flawless qualifying performance, finishing 6 - 0 to claim Swiss King and secure the number one seed heading into the finals.

Although his tournament ended earlier than expected in the playoffs, another undefeated Swiss run is an incredible achievement and further cements him as one of BBNZ's strongest competitors.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our Beyblade X 3rd Year Anniversary Tournament Auckland | Season 3

To celebrate three years since Beyblade X launched in Japan on 15 July 2023, we wanted to pay tribute to where it all began.

For the first half of the tournament, players competed in our special Day 1 Format, using only the original four Beyblades released on launch day.

Along with the ratchets and bits from those releases, players had just 12 legal parts to build from before returning to full BCS Zero for the second half of the tournament.

It was a chance to go back to where Beyblade X started. With only the original launch day Beyblades available, players had to rely on their understanding of the fundamentals rather than the latest releases. It was great seeing everyone embrace the format, adapt throughout the day, and prove that strong players can perform no matter what format they're given.

While this was our smallest tournament since our second-ever BBNZ event, it also gave us an opportunity we don't often get.

With 12 players, we were able to expand the qualifying stage from our usual six rounds to nine rounds of Swiss, giving everyone significantly more matches, more opportunities to adapt, and more value from their entry fee.

Our original plan was to continue all the way to 12 rounds of Swiss. However, after nine rounds it was determined that any additional rounds would begin producing inaccurate Swiss rankings, so we concluded the qualifying stage there to preserve the integrity of the standings.

That also meant we had enough time to run an additional social single elimination tournament, giving everyone even more Beyblade throughout the day.

The size of a tournament doesn't define the quality of the experience. Sometimes fewer players simply means more games, more opportunities to learn, and more Beyblade for everyone.

Owen Garrett put together an outstanding qualifying performance, finishing 8 and 1 to claim Swiss King before carrying that momentum all the way through the finals.

After consistently being one of BBNZ's top competitors, Owen finally secured his first gold medal of 2026, making this a well deserved victory.

⭐ Tournament Highlights

A special mention goes to Kayla Loberg, who made an impressive BBNZ debut by reaching the Top 4.

After playing Beyblade during the Plastic Generation era as a kid, this was her first competitive Beyblade tournament in many years. To return after all that time and immediately make the Top 4 was a fantastic achievement.

Congratulations also to Arul Gaundar, who won our social single elimination tournament and earned himself a free entry into the next BBNZ tournament.

We're back tomorrow for another BBNZ tournament, and if this event reminded us of anything, it's that every tournament has its own story.

Sometimes it's a player earning their first gold medal of the year.

Sometimes it's a returning Blader making an incredible debut.

Sometimes it's a chance to revisit where Beyblade X began and rediscover just how much fun those original Beyblades still are.

Whatever happens tomorrow, we're looking forward to another great day of Beyblade with the community.
