“Why does my carpet look flat?” is a common one we hear at Award Carpets.

Most of the time, it’s nothing to worry about.

Carpet naturally settles where it gets regular foot traffic, so areas like walkways, living rooms, and stairs will often look more compressed over time. Some carpet styles also highlight this more than others, depending on the fibre and pile.

A good vacuum helps lift things back up, and a periodic professional clean can make a noticeable difference.

Flatness doesn’t necessarily mean the carpet is worn out. It’s usually just part of how it performs in a real, lived-in home.
