With no pedals, chains, or training wheels, children learn to balance and steer very quickly. As confidence develops, they'll begin to lift both feet, scooting forward and balancing and just occasionally dropping a foot to the floor when the bike leans over. Soon, they will be balancing and riding along with the confidence of an expert
