Yvonne's tips for waxing furniture. ⏬️⏬️⏬️

In New Zealand's climate it is valuable to nourish wooden furniture regularly so that it doesn't dry and crack.

Yvonne recommends;

1. Before you begin waxing, for pieces that aren't looking too bad, just dust them off. If something is terribly neglected you can clean it first with Liberon Wax and Polish Remover. If the piece has haze bloom or water marks you can remove using Liberon Ring Remover.

2. Choose your wax. Their are many different colors of staining wax available, from Clear or Pine for light furniture to Tudor Oak for very dark furniture. Using a staining wax will enrich the colour of your furniture. Our favourite wax brands are Liberon and Antiquax.

3. Apply the wax with Liberon's finest quality steel wool in grade 0000. Apply in long straight strokes going with the grain. Never go in circles.

4. To get a nice shine, polish the wax off using an old towel.

5. For very dry furniture you may want to repeat steps 3 and 4 to get the best result.

Waxing your furniture is an easy job that anyone can do. It will enhance your furniture and keep it looking good for years to come.
