Relaxin on a Sunday, enjoyed a sleep in & some quality quiet time 🥰 had a great week of wedding flowers, funeral flowers & regular flower orders, took Nugget the dog for a walk, picked up Arlo from the airport, spent time with Moss the cat, picked Otis up from school one of the days & have had shenanigans with deliveries this week!! The bane of florist’s doing deliveries is that the sender of th flowers provides their own phone number instead of th recipients ! So Wednesday did a delivery close by ,got there & it’s a 3 story building with a different business on each level- the overseas sender has given no company name, no floor number & unhelpfully their ph number in Europe & I’m sure they would not have appreciated a call from me in their early hours of the morning!! I finally found the recipient with the third company I tried!!😂😂 and got to meet some lovely people I’d never met before!😅 Another delivery on Tues was to a gated property in a posh suburb,no pedestrian gate, no intercom or bell. Nothing- just a big gate. So I ring the ph number supplied & of course it’s the sender’s phone number which sends her into a tizz bc she doesn’t know what to do, so I circle the property & the only access is if I crawl under a hedge so she very apologetically says- “ yes please- can u crawl under the hedge & deliver to th front door & I will let th recipient know “ so feeling a bit like an urban Bear Grylls I dove under the hedge & did the deed! 🥵😅 A delivery on Thurs was more controversial 😬 it was a large expensive flower order ,I got there in the afternoon as requested & went thru the wee front gate, no answer at the door & I definitely could not leave the flowers at the door bc they could be easily seen from the public footpath so I used my brain,went to the rear wee gate ( which did not have a sign “ No trespassing “ )& entered the back section where I was able to safely leave the flowers on a back porch under cover which was good bc it was a glum drizzly day 🌧️ then diligently took a pic & texted th recipient who was not happy at all that I’d entered her property, in retrospect I should have called the number but ah well u can’t make everyone happy 😆😘

Sunday delivery to Whitford! Not a great day for a road trip- wintery, blustery and grey! 😅😅 At least there is no rain so far. You always forget how immense Auckland is until you get out to the furthest suburbs and see the sprawling metropolis and new housing developments- their own cities really - ever encroaching on rural farmland. I love myself a little adventure, tootling around doing deliveries to difficult or tedious destinations , my google maps delivered me to a colossal mansion, unfortunately not the correct address, but eventually made it down the road a bit and to the right destination- it’s a novel way of meeting new people I guess 😅😂 The brief for the bouquet was pastels and interesting forms and textures, so I had a carefree collection of roses, some of them scented, delicate pastel dahlias and rose tinged standard chrysanthemums, scented oriental lilies and dappled hydrangeas, cottagy sweet williams , matricaria and ageratum and exquisite scented creamy white cymbidiums. I always enjoy my work when I’m in the zone , vibing with the flowers and foliage, letting the flowers tell me where they want to go- I guess any art form or creative expression is ‘channeling’ in a way. I have always believed that creativity is from the divine and when we create we wield a beautiful and powerful gift- for as artists we have the gift of our own interpretation to share with the world, and we have been doing it successfully for Millenia. Happy Sunday everyone and tomorrow we welcome the first day of winter in New Zealand- I’m still in a tee shirt but might have to think about grabbing a coat or jumper in the following weeks ! We’ll see how long I can be staunch and unflinching in the cooling weather?! 😂🥶😅

Yesterday was a Sunday of sunshine 🌞 and showers 🌧 mainly showers 😬😅😅it didn’t stop me from working outside and doin some flower faffing though 😁😆inspired by beautiful wildflowers from - I got to the collective late as they were packing up but still managed to find some beautiful blooms from and 🌸🌷the rain dappled blooms are Iris, roses,Nigella,scabiosa snapdragons, peonies, statice, foxgloves, campanula, bishop’s flowers, cineraria- dusty miller, hydrangeas and smokebush from a friends garden and no unfortunately her limited supplies of smokebush are not for sale 😬😁 it’s always nice to make time for flower faffing on a Sunday and it was quite refreshing with the rain drizzling down around me - it was actually like I was doing exercise out in the fresh air without moving my feet!! 😅😂 It was fresh and invigorating!! A happy week to all. 😁🌸😊.

Happy Sunday 😊 today is my late grandmother’s birthday so birthday flowers and loving thoughts for my grandma whom I loved very much. She was an amazing charismatic, driven, intelligent and generous soul with wide interests ranging from teaching, fossil hunting and collecting, old antique bottle hunting and collecting, shell collecting, dactylanthus hunting and collecting and a collector of various hobbies 😅😅her large gardens were always a great source of pleasure and pride for her- my love of dahlias is because of my beautiful nan and her amazing collection of dahlias , roses and so many other botanical wonders! She always had her home grown flowers in the house and her gardens were always a magical adventure to wander through and get lost in 🥰🌷🌸 my brother and I spent a lot of time with my late grandparents and invariably most weekends was a day outing or a weekend away crystal hunting in the Coromandel, old bottle hunting at old homestead sites or old parts of the towns dumping grounds , or carted off to a rockhound jamboree or visiting one of my grandparents many gemstone, old bottle or shell collecting or gardening friends . Needless to say her motivation and passion for so many things and sharing time with like minded people was wonderful to be a part of . We are surrounded by her treasures and they remind us each day to enjoy life and follow your passions ❤️ thank you Nanna for your unwavering love and support in all that we did, a passion for gardening and flowers and unfortunately a weakness for collecting and hoarding! 🥵😅 Both my parents, my brother and I are unabashed collectors and hoarders and see the beauty in many things . To be inspired by nature around you and the small treasures hidden within the earth and sea and appreciate growing trees and flowers is to live an infinite adventure if one so wished . I am so honoured to have the adventurer eyes of my grandmother and I can see the poetry of life swirl around me and I thankful for many blessings, not least of all a grandmothers love and watching her eyes and whole face light up with excitement and pure sunshine 🌞❤️ Love and Light and wishing you all a happy weekend and week ahead 😊🌸

Happy Sunday 😊 it’s been an incredibly beautiful spring day today with warming sunshine, a high of 18*C and a gentle breeze. It’s also the start of the peony season in New Zealand and I couldn’t be more excited and happy 😃 here’s a bit of botanical cheer to share with you and introducing the reign of the peony with the coral and ‘red charm’ in this whimsical ensemble of delicious roses and delicate ranunculus.
