Every arrangement we make is special but some just tug at our heart strings a bit more. This was for Gabrielle who is overseas and couldn’t be at her father’s funeral. She ordered a big bright hat box arrangement and Emma loved arranging this for her. Full of special pieces from our flower farm - protea, flowering kale, rice flower, ageratum, phylica, double daffodils. Grown and arranged with love.

It’s been a week of picking surrounded by frost, and watching the weather forecast just now it looks like there are more to come. Frosty mornings come with gorgeous days so I’m not complaining, but I do have some plants that aren’t enjoying all the frosts we’ve had. We’ve been here for 18 years and I’ve never seen so many frosts as we have had this year. I’ve been planting all day today - wallflowers, alliums, shizostylis, Solomann’s Seal, kangaroo paws…. Picked first tulip and larkspur today!! Have a great week everyone.

This week Emma created this gorgeous hat box for a special birthday - using nothing but flowers and foliage from our flower farm. There isn’t a lot to pick in the middle of winter but it is stunning nonetheless. Freesias, rice flower, ageratum, poppies, nigella, ornamental kale, hellebores, erica, lilies, anemones, cress and Chinese forget me nots. The colours beautifully matched the EmKo card and a stunning hatbox. Happy Birthday Sharee!!

Happy Matariki everyone. We loved helping a long standing corporate send out baskets across NZ as they acknowledged and celebrated their relationships with the people they work with. We are closed today and are off spending time with family and celebrating a very special 90th birthday.
