We're super proud to share that RRD has been honoured as a finalist in the Business Awards 2026 for Excellence in Sustainability!

Have you spotted the amazing make-over of our giant plane tree by the road signage?

Over the past 2 months TGS year 12 student Louis Tongue has been coordinating a service project to help bring attention to our Reuse Shop!

Students and other community members have been hard at work creating Matariki stars and other shapes out of discarded items otherwise destined for landfill.

Last Saturday Louis and his team of student volunteers gathered to hang the pieces and showcase all this fantastic upcycled art!

We are so grateful to Takapuna Grammar School for encouraging their students to get involved with community projects through the IB programme!

We invite you to come on down, admire this temporary art installation, and pop into the Reuse Store to see what treasures you can find this week!

Yesterday our Community Engagement Manager, Ann Langis (aka Mrs. Noughty), was invited to speak with an intrepid group of zero waste enthusiasts at Ryman Retirement Village.
These amazing people meet regularly to brainstorm ways that Ryman residents can increase appropriate recycling and reuse. Yesterdays topics included 'home compostable' vs. 'commercially compostable', textile waste, and whether the lids from tetra paks can be included when recycling (yes they can!).
We love supporting community members who are passionate about recycling. If you are keen for your local workplace or organisation to have a closer look at reduce, reuse, recycle, please reach out to Mrs. Noughty at [email protected], she would love to hear from you!

Job Opportunity: Yard hand & Small Digger/Loader Operator /
Join us at Resource Recovery Devonport & North Shore Landscapes Supplies
We operate a 7-day-a-week recycling center, skip business, reuse shop, and landscape supply yard, all dedicated to diverting waste and promoting sustainability in our community.
We're looking for a motivated operator to handle yard duties and operate our small digger/ loader.
What you'll do:
* Assist with general yard operations, bagging landscape supplies, sorting and organising incoming resources, waste, and donations.
* Provide excellent customer service in the yard and at the weighbridge/ reuse shop.
* Operate our small digger and loader efficiently and safely.
* Contribute to our environmentally focused operations.
What you'll bring:
* The ability to handle physically demanding work outdoors in all weather is a must.
* Experience operating small digger/ loader would be a bonus.
* Ability to drive manual (preferred)
* A strong environmental focus and passion for sustainability.
* Team player attitude.
The Details:
* Part-time: 1 to 3 days a week (negotiable), with potential for additional days as required.
* Immediate start available.

Cash sales make up a small portion of our sales but cash handling takes up alot of time. Every dollar we spend on administration is a dollar less we can donate.
For 3 months from the 1st of June we will be going cashless.
During this time there will be no exceptions so please come prepared to pay by card or phone.
NO SURCHARGE FOR CARD PAYMENTS
Customers are welcome to discuss this trial with Richard on-site.
