We love discovering our framing out in the wild! And that’s just what happened when we stumbled into one of our favourite cafes for a quick coffee in Avondale.

These works are painstakingly created by Artist Clare Thompson. Her exhibition at Burnt Butter Diner, titled Haerenga Journeys is on view and for sale.
Haerenga Journeys traces a year of highs and lows through bold shapes and rhythmic repetition. Using LEGO, a familiar material to many, Clare transforms it into something unexpected, building a visual language of sharp angles and repetitive patterns that speak to growth, healing, and resilience.

Each piece invites you to reflect, connect, and be inspired!

Clare is a locally-based creative practitioner, art teacher, and founder of The Brick Pit NZ. Her work celebrates play as a powerful way to spark creativity, connection, and shared experience across communities.
