This is what it looks like when a photograph stops being decoration and becomes architecture.

The roselily, framed large and hung with intention, commands the wall the way a window commands a room — not filling space, but defining it. Black frame, dark mount, the flower luminous at the centre. The contrast is deliberate. The scale is the point.

There’s something almost sculptural about seeing it this way. At this size, the petals aren’t just petals — they’re forms, edges, light made tangible. The frilled layers of the roselily, which at small scale might read as delicate, now feel monumental. Quietly so, but monumental.

I haven’t seen these before. A roselily - sitting strikingly tall as I entered the florist shop. It definitely caught my eye. I brought it home and studied the bloom. I loved the multiple layers of fringed petal edges these beauties had. This one in particular was not fully open, not yet but almost - felt too good not to freeze in time and giving it a sense of anticipation. I decided to do this in black and white to strip away everything except for what matters - form, texture and light. This was the moment before the moment, no colour to hide behind, every petal held in breath with the architecture of becoming…

Inspired by sisterhood.

titled: HE LOVES ME, HE LOVES ME NOT

Such a sweet and nostalgic image for me. The act of picking petals while saying “he loves me, he loves me not” is so simple, yet it holds so much emotion—hope, wonder, maybe a bit of longing. The petals brought that memory back for me. Is there a particular flower or something specific that sparked that nostalgic feeling for you?
