I might be biased but I truly believe we have the most incredible local flower community here in little old Blenheim. My locals you guys SHOWED UP and I couldn’t be more grateful and proud of our flower friends 💗

There is something really special about having a physical place where people choose to spend their time and money - local businesses need local customers and today was an incredible example of that in action. So THANK YOU. What a day. Dahlia lovers out in force 🌸

Thank you to my beautiful friend Sally Chaos Blooms Cutting Garden who for three years has made the trip to be part of the instore sale of her amazing tubers - we’re so lucky to be able to have you as part of the Gray Floral fam.

You can see Andy literally scrubbing our slippery floor by hand before kick off 😂 this man is the best. Ali, Vanessa & Zoe thank you for working so hard behind the scenes to make sure the shop was pretty, stocked and ready for the Chaos of today. The countdown is on to our Dahlia Tuber sale! Here’s a teaser of just a few of the special varieties that will be available on the day 😍

We will also have $5 & $10 lucky dip tubers which are all lovely named varieties suitable for cutting - we just can’t tell you which until they flower 😉

Our perennial range is growing by the week, with new and hard to find perennials making their way from our grow tunnels to the shop.

New this week is Digitalis Lutea, also known as the Straw Foxglove, a reliably perennial foxglove in the loveliest soft yellow and lush green foliage. Happiest in dappled shade but will tolerate full sun, growing to around 60cm+. Fab for a naturalistic or woodland style planting, or for a tricky dry shady spot. Instore now!

We have a lovely crop of sanguisorba which is also pictured in this image which will be out instore in a few weeks!

🌸 INSTORE DAHLIA TUBER SALE 19th SEPT 9AM🌸

Our 3rd annual instore dahlia tuber sale with Sally from Chaos Blooms is coming up and we couldn’t be more excited about it! Our biggest range of varieties yet, with some seriously coveted unicorns for the collectors and a stunning selection of cut flower varieties.

If you’re new to growing dahlias, just want some colour in the garden or love a surprise we will also have lots of $5 & $10 lucky dips from our Gray Floral cutting garden.

This is our not to be missed event - save the date and bring your flower friends!

Lavender Grosso is our most often requested Lavender. It is highly fragrant and used commercially for oil and drying. Perfect for a sunny dry spot. We have plants available instore now!

Seed potatoes, yams and shallots are instore now! As always you can buy them individually or by the kg 🥔 Seed potatoes are just 50c each or $6/kg

We also have packets of Pea seed available - just $3/pack.

Have you ever had your tulips self seed? This is the first time I’ve ever had tulips germinate in the garden after leaving the seed heads on. My DMs were flooded after sharing this on stories so thought I’d document it on the feed 😂

I leave the flowers on my garden tulips that are not for picking, and last year I never got around to deadheading the seed pods. Giant and straw coloured I thought they looked rather lovely. Today when w**ding I thought I’d had invasion of a new w**d I wasn’t familiar with - but a quick google told me these large burgundy seeds pods are tulip seeds. They’ve been germinating through hard frosts and cold days - tough little things! Tulips take between 4-7 years to bloom from seed, growing their tiny bulb bigger every year and foliage from chive sized to mature foliage. No wonder it takes so long to develop new varieties!! I’ll do my best not to w**d these little guys out, but 4-7 years is a long time to be so fastidious 😅😅 wish me luck!
