A beautiful deciduous ornamental tree with graceful, arching branches covered in masses of soft pink blossoms in spring. An excellent feature tree for gardens and lawns. Typically grows around 4–5 m tall and 3–4 m wide.

Note that it is more upright/vase-shaped and spreading than a strongly weeping cherry. It produces masses of small, single, shell-pink flowers in spring.

It is a grand iconic palm of our seaside boulevards, historic homes and Victorian-era public plantings.
It has a large crown of dark green fronds, becoming very spiny near the thick trunk.
Phoenix canariensis is a slow growing but extremely tough palm which handles heat and drought, cold and frost.
It iss quite tolerant of coastal conditions, including salt-laden winds and sea spray once established.
These palms prefer well drained soil, in a sunny or part shade position.
Grow to 10-15m tall, 6-8m wide.

Bushy dense tree. Reddish purple shoots bear oval glossy, dark green leaves. Slender spikes of small fragrant white flowers in early summer followed by deep purple fruits.
