Toi Atea is our creative space of potential, a place where we can be creative as a whanau and share our love of raranga, painting, printing, customizing something unique, making rongoa, pani, photography of our favourite places to be inspired by. We have designed logo's, illustrated books, collaborated with other creatives and shared opportunities.

Amassing the Fragrance of the Pua was a Pacific Women’s Leadership Symposium. It was a pleasure and an honour to create some gifts of aroha as a way of thanking our Keynote speakers who we all know lead from a place of service for the greater pai of the community and wellbeing.

Registered Trademark, is a protection element for pakihi, their brand, and sayings associated to the brand. It is a process requiring the support and guidance of legal representation, for processing.

I remember the feeling of elation when we became a legal entity and knowing that we have safe guarded our brand to the best of our abilities. If you are starting business this might be something you want to check out, know for future reference and be weary of.

The fear of possibly having to re-brand due to not getting everything done in a sequential flow, is real and huge. Protecting our taoka is another korero, for another day.

When you have an idea, and your not 100% but you really want to give it a go and see how it turns out. Yep I had one of those moments recently and am feeling thankful to AHO Creative for their generosity in sharing one of their taoka - AHO KOHA a gift box.

Then whānau can add personal touches to the AHO KOHA, whether you are planning on painting, collaging favourite quotes or pictures, adding some fabric to the lining or coloured tissue paper to keep your taoka protected for storage. If you have several stacked together then you might want a colour flow from one to another, or some labels.

Crystal clarity that wonderful moment of pondering a complicated situation and then a pathway opens up and you have crystal clarity - you know what is, what is required, how to make it flow and how it pieces together.

Crystal clarity is my thing this week, every day something has been aligning and I am happily reminded that the journey is guiding me - not the other way round.

The right people are where they need to be and to always be thankful.

Whakawhetai -Thankful for goodness.

Last week we had a Hakui - Tamahine occasion - to add to our memory moments. We were fortunate to attend the Christchurch concert of Mr. Cowboy aka Sam Ah Chookoon, loving the energy of your vibrations and watching your career grow.

Beautifully supported by The Western Samoans Band, you guys are amazing. Special Thank you to KAVA BOWL MEDIA for making it all happen.

Island Country was Mr Cowboy's tour of Aotearoa - a chance to thank his fans who love his music and have supported through the early years.

The atmosphere was electric and people drove from all around Te Waipounamu. Such an amazing evening.

Always great hanging out with aiga and sharing some laughs and catching up, Fa'afetai lava Johnny Tapu, as always loving your mahi cuz, keep doing magic xoxo

Reflection is the beauty of looking back over a time in place and adding the growth of wisdom from learned experiences, understanding ones perspective and processing all of "what is" in the moment.

Looking up at the colours of Hinenui te rā! through the tips of our Pā Harakeke is mesmerising. Watching them sway in the breeze is a lot like how we all navigate our daily environments, reacting to our various situations, our roles, the many pōtae we wear, things we are responsible for and those we are accountable to.

The past few months have been a beautiful time of reflection and planning and mapping future goals.

Over this time we have paused production on some of our taoka, and focussed on others, we have re-kindled relationships with treasured and respected Sistaz, we have deliberately made more time for balance in our mahi - and putting it on hold to cherish and celebrate whānau.

As our mahi increased, there was a constant grounding of "food for thought" about the balance of creative play, core business, whanau time, development opportunities, Reflective practice, collaboration and the fun in new journeys and so much more - like time for self, time for wellbeing and time for smelling the mara.

Life is a journey, something we all know. Finding the balance is a challenge for whānau possibly more now than ever before.

Kōtuku Raupua is a special Hopi designed by the youngest of our whanau, when she was only 14 years old. This delicately smooth soap is scented with organic rose petals and wholesome ingredients your body will love.

Needing some pampering after a long and challenging week then this is the one for you. Enjoy and please remember all our Hopi are wrapped in Bio shrink film which is home compostable.

The inspiration for our logo colour, is the colour of new fresh growth of plants. It embodies the essence and the energy felt by our team every year from Sept - April.

Emerging from the dormant feeling that Takurua - Winter creates. That amazing transitional phase is when we seem to get a creative surge of ideas and the extra energy to make it all happen.
