and recycle RECYCLE. REUSE. RE PURPOUSE

The Silvan which was once a beautiful art gallery and cafe in Selwyn Street, Christchurch unfortunately taken by the Christchurch Earthquake has now resurrected as a small team of like minded demolition hand salvagers doing all they can to save and re purpose beautiful timbers saved from damaged buildings. Everything is lovingly handmade and each piece has its own character and place of origin. Yo

u can find the wood type and history of where it has come from, written on the back of each frame or box. We have always specialized in picture frames but have been slowly expanding our expertise. We strongly believe in minimizing waste and reusing what we can to make something practical yet beautiful and full of soul.
