Important news!

The New Brighton Christmas Parade will be taking a break in 2026.

With the ongoing redevelopment work in the Pedestrian Mall, there is too much uncertainty around the timing and completion of the project for us to confidently plan and deliver the parade this year.

We have explored a range of options, but after weighing them all have decided to pause for 2026 and focus on bringing the parade back in 2027.

And don't worry, Santa is still planning a visit to New Brighton. He'll be spending time at the Village Green Te Hiato Kuaka between the 12th and 19th December, and we'll be putting on some special Christmas entertainment on the 19th at the Seaside Market on Marine Parade, and the Village Green.

We will share more details about that in the coming weeks.

A massive thank you to everyone for making today a great new start in our temporary space while we wait for the mall upgrades. It was so amazing to see so many familiar faces and some new ones. Thank you to our stall holders for being patient and kind while we settle into a new space with new boundaries, and to our amazing team for being so able to pivot at a moments notice and make it all work. We are so grateful to the the New Brighton Club and to Christchurch City Council for all the support. Looking forward to many more successful market days. Life is better by Sea!

***THE SEASIDE MARKET HAS MOVED***
Due to the CCC mall upgrade works, from Saturday 29 August, you’ll find us at our new temporary home in the New Brighton Club car park, 202 Marine Parade.

You can still expect the same amazing stallholders, face painting and familiar faces.

It’ll take us a little while to settle in, so please bear with us while we get used to our new layout.

A massive thank you to the New Brighton Club and Christchurch City Council for supporting this move.
