Hard to believe it, but the time has come where we are about to approach our last official day of in-store trading this Sunday, July 30th. We will be open our usual hours 10am - 5pm, and with the weather looking good, the team is gearing up for a fun last weekend to send us off in style. 🎉⁠

With 20% - 70% off storewide, we encourage you to take advantage of our Farewell Sale and secure any last minute stationery items you’ve been eyeing up! It is available both online and in store, however if you are local we recommend coming in to visit as there are lots of one-off items that won't be available online. 🛍️⁠

This will be our last official trading weekend, the following week (July 31st - August 6th) we will still be operating online as normal. Our physical store will also be open, but in a reduced capacity, so we recommend sending us a message if you are planning on making a special trip during that time so we can ensure we are open when you plan to visit. ⁠

Also a small reminder to anyone who has an active Pepa gift card, these will also expire on Sunday, July 30th. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to message us or send us through an email. 💌⁠

Good evening everyone, we just wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you for your wonderfully kind words of understanding and support on our announcement last night. ⁠
We are working our way through all the comments and DM's, and feeling so humbled by what truly incredible people we have in our community. ⁠💖

Today we have begun our 20% sale on everything in store and online. We will be adding new things up over the next couple of weeks, as we work through our product inventory, plus our extensive collection of vintage and pre-loved treasures we have collected for merchandising and styling over the years.

We have many items that have long been admired in store - including wooden vessels, ceramics, glassware, and plants, and we would love to make these available for sale and find them new homes when we are ready to wind things up. ⁠🪴

We also wanted to confirm that yes we will be keeping our writing desk and Pepa Post initiative going until the last day and so we encourage you all to take come in and take a moment to put pen to paper one to write to this season's nominees if you are in the area! ⁠📝📮

For the last five and a half years Pepa has proudly been a part of the Ōtautahi community, encouraging people to take a moment to reflect on their day to day lives and put pen to paper ~ be it to plan and organise or reach out to a loved one. Creating this special environment has been both incredible and challenging at times, however, in the last 12 months we have found it increasingly difficult to keep our favourite items in stock and be the stationery shop with something for all stationery lovers. 💌
⁠
Unfortunately, we are not immune to the rising cost of living and many of our suppliers are raising their prices this year. Some of these costs would have to be passed on and we completely understand that many of our wonderful customers are feeling the pinch and are very smartly being more conservative with their spending.⁠
⁠
Ian and I have therefore decided to take a moment to reflect on our own wellbeing, and have decided that we simply don’t have enough in the tank to continue navigating the complexities of running Pepa during these difficult times. And so, we have made the heartbreaking decision to close up at the end of July.⁠
⁠
Our last day of in-store trading will be Sunday 30th July, with the online website to close within the week or two following. We would be very grateful for your ongoing support as we transition through this next phase. We know this will come as a shock to many of our amazing loyal customers and we are happy to recommend other amazing small businesses who supply similar products where we can. 💖
⁠
We would like to thank all the people that have been with us on our journey. Our amazing and supportive team, Bianca and Jess, and to our former employees over the last four years for being part of the family and giving our community the Pepa experience they deserve.

Our wonderful and talented creatives and suppliers who have allowed us to showcase their work, and to the Arts Centre for their support and vision. Our family and friends who have been there to lend an ear and generously share their time with projects and support.

And most importantly to you, our loyal customers over the years, thank you so much for all your support and for helping make Pepa a special place to enjoy. We will miss being part of the Otautahi and The Arts Centre community and will look back with fond memories. ✍️🧡

If you're planning on coming in to visit the store over the next few weeks, there is a small handful of days that we will either be closed or have reduced hours.

These are as follows ~

December 30th: 10am - 2pm⁠
December 31st: CLOSED
