I had a fabulous day shopping with friends Debbie and Diana yesterday, who travelled up from Te Anau for a long awaited wardrobe update, more than two years after our last shopping trip together.

After their individual pre-shops for their different body shapes and proportions, colouring and style personalities, we started at Spoilt Boutique, then into The Crossing at Belleza, Ballantynes and Max Fashions.

With around 10 carefully chosen purchases each, every item on their shopping lists was ticked off and they were two very happy ladies, with their wardrobes now ready for Spring/Summer! 🌞

W E L L . . T H A T W A S A W E E K ! 🤯

The last week (because my work weeks are more Wed to Sun than Mon to Frid 😜) has been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, if I’m honest.

The landscapers came back to replace the faulty pavers… only to concrete them in the wrong place, and mixed the grey stones underneath with the top layer of white stones, which meant they had to come back and redo them all again.🤦‍♀️

A relationship I’d recently started ended just before I was meant to head away to Queenstown, and that trip ended up being cancelled too.

Then there have been tech dramas, including me enthusiastically cleaning up apps on my phone and deleting some that I actually really needed, including my long to do list. 🙄

Sometimes life just seems to throw a whole lot of curveballs at once!

But I do think when things feel messy, you have to try and focus on the positives, find something to laugh about, and remind yourself that a rough week is just that....a rough week.

So today I’m focusing on the positive…I’m starting to get my armpits back again! 🙏😝😅🤣

I am so done with ageism in modern society.

Ageing is natural. There is nothing wrong with ageing, and it does not need to be “corrected.”

Modern society has become so obsessed with looking younger that ageing itself is often treated like a flaw. It isn’t.

There’s a big difference between choosing to change something because it personally bothers you, and feeling that you have to erase every visible sign of ageing in order to remain attractive, relevant or acceptable.

I’d love to see far more acceptance of what ageing actually looks like.

A R E Y O U L O S I N G W E I G H T ?

I picked up 10 items from my alterations place yesterday, and dropped off another skirt and two dresses to be taken in through the bust, waist and hips.

If you’re losing weight, don’t assume you need to replace your whole wardrobe.

I’m about halfway through my own weight loss journey, so for now I’m continuing to have the clothes I love altered rather than replacing everything.

I’ll keep doing that until the proportions no longer work and the pieces can’t be altered properly anymore.

If you already own pieces you love, getting them professionally altered can be a much more affordable option than buying everything again from scratch.

I’m gradually getting some of my summer wardrobe altered now so it’s ready for the warmer weather.

And yes, there did seem to be a bit of a leopard print theme happening on the counter! 🐆 🤭

Today was the last session of my client’s Ultimate Styling Package; the Wardrobe Coordinating Session.

My clients often tell me this session is just as valuable as the shopping trips because it teaches them how to accessorise and coordinate complete outfits from head to toe.

It also helps them get more wear out of both their existing clothes and new purchases, so their wardrobe works harder for their lifestyle.

With the help of my assistant Juliet, we pulled together lots of beautiful Summer coloured outfits using a mix of my client’s existing wardrobe and her lovely new pieces she purchased during her shopping trip with me.🛍

S M A R T F I T I S G O I N G M O B I L E ! 🏎💨

Last night I put my new professional 6k daylight LED lights from Australia, through their paces with my lovely assistant Jada, while doing her Colour Analysis.

It was the perfect opportunity to test the lighting properly at night, with no natural daylight in the studio, and I’m thrilled with the result.

After experimenting with the brightness and colour temperature, I’ve found the settings that give me the clear, accurate light I need for professional Colour Analysis.

I actually think these new LED lights are even better than my old fluorescent tube daylight bulbs.

Even better, they’re portable!
