We are now busy planning another successful market day and are now calling for expressions of interest from vendors.

This year we will be holding our Christmas Market on Thursday 3rd December 10am-9pm.

Celebrating 13 years of The Tannery means looking back at the businesses that have been part of our story from the beginning. The Silversmiths Guild of Canterbury have been bringing jewellery making, craftsmanship and creativity to The Tannery for all 13 years.

After the earthquakes forced the Guild to leave its Arts Centre location, they found a new home here in Woolston. With support from a 2012 Earthquake Emergency Assistance Grant from Creative New Zealand, the Guild was able to fit out their new workshop, including the benches that are still in use today. The Guild is made up of jewellers who share the space, run classes and open the workshop to others wanting to learn and practice the craft.

To celebrate 13 years at The Tannery, they’re offering 13% off classes and vouchers with code TANNERY13.
