Great to see some spring weather ☀️🌱

We just wish the plants were waking up a little quicker. The second part of winter was cold this year and some of the plants normally available, are a little behind.

We have a range of oxygenating and marginal plants at our front door. Iris are slowly starting to come out of winter dormancy. Should be available in the next couple of weeks. Caltha Palustris is normally the first flowering plant and it arrived in this week.

We have two brands of Aquatic mixes for repotting plants, short and long term fertilizer pellets for water lilies.

Now is the time to start with algae treatments, either chemical or our favourite "Ecopond Bio-Barley" a concentrated natural algae treatment made from Barley Straw, used in conjunction with "Ecopond Mud Muncher" an eco-friendly bacterial treatment formulated to biodegrade organic sludge, fish waste, and decaying plant matter at the bottom of ponds and within filters.
Don't wait until the pond greens up, you will just produce more waste from dead algae.

We have a wide range of pond products: Circulation fountain pumps, pond filters and pumps, lighting, solar pumps, air pumps for ponds, pond treatments, fertilizers, gravel, plants, pre-formed ponds, pond liner, prefilter sponges, UVC pond units, UVC spare lamps and of course Goldfish - all bred on site.

Open again on Saturday 11am to 6pm

We grow 99% of the aquarium plants we sell in store. Well ..... actually, the old guy does this.
We have the odd occasion where the cost of plants does get mentioned, especially Amazon Swords and Lotus.
There is a really long grow out period. All these tanks are lighted and heated and we can only do so many per tank. You can imagine our power bills at this time of the year 😬
Occasionally customers accidentally wander out the back of the store and are amazed at the number of plant tanks.
Thought I would share a few photos of those. There are even more than this. All grown submerged. You can see the size of some of the starter Amazon Swords, will take months before they make it to store. 🌿
