, in one-on-one and group scenarios. I'm a qualified Secondary School teacher with a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance. I come from a strong music background, having learnt the violin, piano and guitar. Growing up, I was involved in chamber music groups, orchestras, musicals and in the Rockquest. I can teach note reading, technical aspects for playing Classical Guitar, analysing music, performance practice, ensemble playing and theory. I can also prepare students for NCEA assessments or for auditioning for music performance programmes at Universities. I have experience in preparing students for Trinity Guildhall Exams with a 100% pass rate. In 2004, Paul completed his Bachelor Music in Classical Guitar Performance at Massey University (now NZSM) in Wellington under guidance of Matthew Marshall and Gunter Herbig. He also had masterclasses from guitarists such as Anthony Field, David Lisner, John Couch, Dr. Jane Curry, Lily Afshar, Jason Vieaux and Cheryl Grice-Watterson. During his studies, Paul also toured the North Island with the Massey University Guitar Orchestra 'Live Wires'. In 2004, he won the 1st Prize at the Christchurch Guitar Society Competition. He is an active member of the Chch Guitar Society and is a member of the guitar quartet Guitar Otautahi. In 2005, Paul began to pursue his passion for music in direction of recording, audio and sound technologies completing a Certificate in Audio Engineering & Music Production at MAINZ (Tai Poutini Polytechnic). He complimented this by completing a Diploma in Audio Engineering & Music Production with Distinction in 2012. Paul has worked as a freelance Audio Engineer, secondary school teacher and guitar teacher in Christchurch. As an Audio Engineer he has worked for Tandem Studios and is currently the Tech co-ordinator for community access station Plain FM in Christchurch. He is the Audio Engineer and Tech co-ordinator for the Taranaki Classical Guitar Summer School since 2012 and recorded the Christchurch concert of the NZGQ in September 2012.
