There’s something so magical about slow walks by the river. Niko and I love wandering down by the Heathcote River, watching the little s**g perched on branches, then suddenly splash! he disappears beneath the water.
We started playing a game… while s**g is under the water we say: "Peek-a, peek-a, peek-a,..." and we wait, until s**g pops back up, and we shout: “Boo!”
And just like that, Peek-a-Boo Bird was born!
What started as a simple river walk turned into giggles, pointing fingers, and waiting with excitement for that cute we bird to reappear. So I’ve turned our little game into something special, a creation inspired by those playful dives, curious eyes, and the joy of noticing nature together. Sometimes the sweetest ideas aren’t planned. They’re found between splashes, small hands in yours, and a bird playing peek-a-boo in the river.
