Peony lovers this one is for you!

There has been a fair bit happening behind the scenes of Blooming Boulders one of them being the move of our peonies.

It is work in progress but while we are in the moment and in the right time of the year for this job we thought we should create the opportunity for you to get your hands on some of these to call your own.

We haven't sold plants or rootstock before so bare with us while we navigate this path.

At our open day many of you indicated to be interested to buy some peony roots, we started a list at the front gate on the day. If that was you, I will contact you shortly! However if you didn't make it to our open day but you would like to buy some peony roots of us, now is the time.

Peony plants do well in Southland because they love a good frost. They are low maintenance and can sit in the same place for decades.

We will be bringing roots this Sunday to the Southern Farmers Market so be sure to call in there to get your hands on some of these beauties.

If you want to pre-order please flick us a message, especially if you are wanting a larger number it would be great if we can prepare them for you ahead of time. Depending on numbers Cam might be able to sharpen his pencil too.

If you are local to us, Tuatapere, we plan to put a few in the stall over the next week orso but you are also welcome to flick us a message to secure a pre-order.

We are offering this opportunity only because we are moving our stock. Peonies do not really like to be moved and take time to re-establish. Therefore we do not plan to this again in the future.

I spend this morning at my friend's flowerfarm Emerald flowers fluffing about with all these prettiest. And to be honest, I have secretly missed this more then I realized. And now this glorious bunch is going to sit on my table, reminding me that I do want more of this in my life again.
Getting our eggventure off the ground has been challenging and fun. Dust has started settling a wee bit now.
So, I feel like I should start thinking about next growing season and how I will bring flower goodness back into my life. Not sure what it will look like yet but that is food for thought for this winter 🌸
