Hello everyone! Happy Friday!

Do you ever have those days or weeks of deep self reflection of why you do the things you do? Yesterday, I had a lovely conversation with a really good friend about why I chose to take on Santosha Candle Co. You may think this is weird but I didn't particularly want to own a small business, I just simply wanted to do something for myself and for that 'something' to make others feel good.

Santosha has a special meaning. It means contentment in Sanskrit, emphasizing the importance of finding happiness and peace within oneself.

I've never really been one for comparing myself to others, and through my love for yoga, it has taught me not to compete with others but to enjoy being in an environment that allows us all to be present and connected.

I've also learned since becoming a small business owner that the online world is a flooded market with brands competing with others and its something I've tried really hard not to do. My success doesn't come from selling more candles than other brands, it comes from doing something I enjoy and in a small way making others feel calm and grounded. Sometimes its important to bring ourselves back to what matters to us and to be grateful for what we have.

On that note, I may have gone a really long way of introducing my latest fragrance Orchid & Clove. A deep, intoxicating fragrance of Black Orchid, Sandalwood and Clove. Perfect for this time of year.

I've yet to upload the new fragrance on my website so feel free to message me on either Instagram or Facebook and I'll get one (or few) to you.

Finally, the sun is shining in Dunedin!! All kids soccer games cancelled this weekend. Happy/sad/yin/yang moment in our household (guiltily feeling happy, daughters not so much). They won't see this post. 🤫

It is a great day to head into town to visit Klein & Blue, Dunedin's new homeware and lifestyle store on 385 Moray Place. Please go visit the lovely team. I'm super excited to have my candles in such a beautiful store.

I was meant to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and just like that, the day has passed me by.

I'd just like to thank you all for supporting my wee business. Thank you to all the local business owners that have shown me so much love in the last year, many of whom I'd call a friend. It has been a tough year for many local businesses so if you can, please continue to support local. Thank you to all my beautiful friends and family that always think of Santosha Candle Co. when buying gifts for others. To all my customers, thank you. 🙏

I'm taking a wee break to hang out with family and friends. This is the magical view from my cabin at The Manapouri Campground for the next 3 nights. It was meant to be 6 nights but let's just say....mummy makes mistakes too. 🙈

I'll be back pouring candles around the 20th January and will sort out any online orders around that time.

Santosha's new summer fragrance. Raspberry & Mint.

This fragrance is inspired by our summer holidays spent in Central Otago. Driving from Dunedin to St Bathans, I convince my wonderful husband to take the longer route through Roxburgh to stop by our favourite orchard called Berryland to pick the most beautiful tasting raspberries. They also make the yummiest real fruit ice-cream! We are so lucky to live in a country that produces such delicious, seasonal produce. ❤

A beautiful blend of sweet, tart raspberries blended with the invigorating aroma of wild mint.

Online now in either 380ml or 150ml sized candle.

Online orders Christmas delivery cut-off Thursday 19th December 3pm.
Dunedin pick up Sunday 22nd December. PM for drop off in Dunedin.

I am so excited to have Santosha Candles stocked Foodstore . You must try Marbecks Mini Choc Mud cakes, they're amazing (even the icing is delicious). They also stock top notch-flour to make your own pizza dough. The best thing about Marbecks is that I'm always greeted with a smile. Some days for many, it's that one smile or hello which makes the world seem like a better place. 🫶
