Dutch Delight

The colour change in this one 🧡
Raspberry which fades out to blush and apricot as it opens.

An informal decorative with its twisted petals finished off with ‘picotee’ edges. (Contrasted colour edging the petals)

Lots of questions about whether we are having another sale?

Yes we are! We are still working through dividing our stock but so far they are looking fantastic and we will have good numbers for our spring sale.

We will keep you updated when we have a date locked in.

Pretty please don’t message asking for if we will keep a special variety aside. Everyone will get the same opportunity at the same time 🩷

Shipping from our April presale will begin in September.

It will take a few weeks to work through all the orders. You will receive email notification and tracking details when your order is on its way.

Reminders:
We cannot combine seperate orders.

If the incorrect shipping has been selected we will send an invoice at the time of shipping. Last year we worked on trust but were left with a lot of unpaid invoices. We will not send them this year until payment is received.

Further shipping information is available on our website and in our T&C’s

Romance ~ She is absolute perfection & everyone wants her. But is also by far one of the most challenging varieties we stock.

Here is a little insight into one of the rarer varieties in our collection and why Romance continues to be a higher priced, limited variety.

Romance has incredible huge healthy plants but is a miserable tuber producer. We didn’t sell any last season to increase our stock numbers.
Last images show just one new tuber for an entire season of growth & sometimes her better looking clumps like to fool us with soo many feeder tubers. (Feeder tubers are not viable tubers)
We also find romance slow to wake up, root cuttings and with higher rates of tuber loss. She is extra special.

We have enough stock for our presale orders but are undecided if we will be offering anymore in our spring sale

Dig. Wash. Divide. Store. & Repeat.

Not a lot of pretty to share around here at the moment. We are in the thick of dahlia digging.

Despite the average summer the tubers have done really well and are looking fantastic.

We can’t wait to share them with you in spring.

Reminder that we will start shipping preorders from September.
Once we have finished sorting and counting stock we will have another tuber sale in spring

‘Terroir’ ~ Environmental Conditions

- Soil
- Climate
- Topography
- Human Influence

We found this great example earlier in the season of Rosemary Webb in different growing conditions.

Both plants are cuttings from the same tuber. One grown in full sun in the garden, the other in a shadier location in a pot.

There is an obvious difference between the leaf colour, bloom size, and bloom colour.

If you have a variety that hasn’t performed or flowered as expected consider the environmental conditions and give them a second chance.
Sometimes a new variety can also take a couple of seasons to settle into its new environment.

We personally never have great success growing in pots often with smaller, yellower flowers.

did a great post about this last year I will reshare in our stories.

** If a plant hasn’t thrived and disease is suspected it is always disposed off.
