in has a rich history of chocolate making stretching back over 150 years. OCHO founder Liz Rowe, started making chocolate back in 2013, growing a successful boutique business. Fast forward five years and OCHO was sold to more than 3000 New Zealanders, following one of the fastest crowd funding campaigns the country has ever seen. We opened our expanded factory at new premises in 2019 and we’re proud to have our roots firmly planted in Dunedin. After all, it is the home of chocolate making in New Zealand. All our cacao is sourced from farmers in the Pacific Islands and we make regular origin visits to our growers ensuring they’re paid a fair price. Closer to home, we are an accredited member of Living Wage Aotearoa and work hard at a local level to assist charities and community organisations to make the planet a better place — growing a business that is good for our environment, our people and our customers by being open and transparent about how we make our chocolate every step of the way.
