That time I went to Equifest and had people walk up saying:
“Oh my god I follow you! It’s so cool you’re here!”

The first time it happened felt a bit surreal and gave me such a buzz 😂

People stopped by the stall all weekend, clinicians came over for chats, and even a photographer based part-time in New York later bought a saddle 🤯

I went two years in a row — the first year completely blew me away and I was feeling a little starstruck 😅

The second year was even better. Having people return to see me, or finally meeting customers in person who’d bought saddles, was really cool. I even had my first “second saddle” purchase! 😂

I took nine saddles with me and came home with one.

Suddenly all the hours planning the stall, packing the car like a game of Tetris, the 6+ hours of travel and the three-hour setup paid off 😅

I smile when I think of the time I had an email chain with a client that ended up being over 170 emails long.

Yep… 170 😅

There were questions, photos, videos, measurements… a few side quests in between… and a whole lot of back and forth trying to figure out what would actually work for her.

We even joked we’d hit some kind of record 😂

We met up on one of my road trips — hugged and laughed at finally putting faces to names 💛

Parked in a random carpark, she sat on saddles on my saddle stool under a tree.

She took one to try… not quite right — so back it came.

A bit more back and forth… and then finally — the one that ticked all the boxes.

Buying a saddle doesn’t happen every day, and I really wanted to get it right for her.

Getting that one over the line felt pretty good 🤍

My first saddle sale involved a 2-hour drive up the coast with a car packed full of options.

Very much like this 😅

I remember pulling up, opening the boot, and thinking… I look like a travelling salesman.

Not glamorous. Not polished. Just me, a bunch of saddles, and the hope that one would suit.

I was nervous, excited, and honestly a bit humbled by the trust they’d given me.

And that first sale?

We hugged… and I think I asked “are you sure?” about five times 😂

I got back in the car thinking… I reckon I can do this.

That was the moment it all started to feel real 🤍

This is the saddle that started it all.

I bought it back in June 2022 after what felt like a really long search to find something that actually suited — and fit within my budget.

I remember not loving the buying experience (it was pretty painful tbh 😅) and thinking there had to be a better way.

I knew I couldn’t afford a newly made saddle, and I didn’t want to settle for synthetic. Finding something in the middle was hard — there just wasn’t much out there.

That was the moment I realised… surely I’m not the only one in this position.

And that’s where the idea for ECES started.

Funny how one decision can turn into something pretty cool 🤍

I’ve found myself reflecting a bit lately.

Going back through photos, reels and memories from the ECES journey — and I’m really proud of what this little business became.

The conversations, the lessons, the support and the community that grew around it… it was fun, busy, and so rewarding.

I know it still has so much potential in the right hands — whether that’s continuing what I started or taking it somewhere completely new.

What began with one saddle and an idea turned into a pretty cool little business.

As I build my next chapter, I’m enjoying revisiting where this one began.

I might share a few of those moments over the next little while 🤍
