✨ Small Business Reality Check ✨
Owning a small business isn't for the faint-hearted.
People see the pretty displays, the beautiful gifts, the balloons, and the social media posts. What they don't always see is the person behind the scenes wearing approximately 37 different hats on any given day. 🎩
One minute I'm a buyer, hunting down unique and affordable gifts.
The next, I'm trying to predict the next big trend before it becomes yesterday's news.
Then I'm attending gift fairs, unpacking stock, creating social media content, answering emails, doing the accounts, paying bills, cleaning shelves, chasing suppliers, and wondering if coffee can be claimed as a business expense because it's basically keeping the whole operation running. ☕😂
Some days I'm the CEO.
Some days I'm the cleaner.
Most days I'm both.
But honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way.
Because what makes it worthwhile isn't just the products on the shelves.
It's the conversations.
The laughs.
The cheeky banter.
The customers who pop in "just for a look" and stay for a 20-minute catch-up.
The stories, the friendships, and being trusted to help celebrate life's special moments.
That's the part they don't teach you when you start a business.
And that's the part I love the most. ❤️
