Position: Retail Assistant
Location: Shooters World, Gore, Southland, NZ
Hours: 20 hours per week, Flexible
Shift: Mainly afternoon shift, 12:00pm – closing (5.30pm), Flexible

About the role
Shooters World Gore is looking for a friendly, approachable Retail Assistant who enjoys talking with people and providing great in-store service. You’ll help customers, support sales, and keep the shop running smoothly. A friendly sense of humour is a must.

Key responsibilities
Greet customers and provide helpful, friendly service
Assist customers with questions and product recommendations
Process sales using the store computer/POS system
Maintain a tidy, well-presented store
Assist with store tasks as required (including basic stock presentation)
Follow store procedures and any compliance requirements relevant to the business

About you 👤
You will ideally have:
Fi****ms license (current)
Background in hunting and fishing
Some computer knowledge/confidence using shop systems
Friendly, approachable communication style
Good sense of humour 😊

Comfortable talking to people and providing customer service
What we offer
20 hours per week rostered work

Training/support for store processes

For over 45years, Shooters World Gore has been supplying Fi****ms to our local Southland customers and throughout NZ. Since those early days, the product range has grown to include gear for Hunting, Shooting, Fishing, Camping, as well as Clothing & Footwear.
We are a small team that believes in what we are selling and what we do!
What we need:
Shooters World is looking for a part-time IT Guru in-store role focused on social media and website, with a strong familiarity with the hunting and fishing environment.
Key qualifications
• Knowledge of social media and websites
• Understanding of the hunting and fishing environment
• Strong people skills and ability to talk comfortably with customers
• Social personality and a sense of humour
• Fi****ms licence
• Does well under pressure

Alistair is heading to Haast again this year to be a part of the following great event! We are on the hunt for ducks for the duck plucking comp! If you have any FRESH ducks can you please drop them off to Alistair at the shop we are leaving on Friday afternoon!
