Most New Zealand quilt and craft stores don't just buy their stock because its cheap crap, or buy a whole range cause they have no knowledge about what YOU like, they don't stock what they are told to by an overseas 'parent' company.
Why is that important??
Smaller quilt and craft shops buy stock that is thoughtfully chosen for YOU. They buy fabrics etc that will be loved by their customers, used in their classes, and enjoyed in their stitching/sewing groups.
They are skilled and knowledgeable, not just about the craft, but about their clients. They love creativity and share that knowledge with you to enhance your projects and your skill base.
Over coming months your support of your local craft and quilt stores will be more valuable than ever. Where you invest is important and valued by small stores.
Visit the shows and exhibitions, attend the classes, join the groups, enjoy the social things, the fellowship, the fun of being with others who like the same things as you.
It really makes a difference.
