I’m absolutely overjoyed to share our fundraising total for ME/CFS and during May - a staggering $900! 🤯🙏

As someone with M.E., I can’t say how much it meant to see people engaging with the discussions and learning more about ME/CFS this month.

It’s such a misunderstood and stigmatized disease, despite over 135,000 sufferers in NZ, and millions more worldwide.

Thank you for coming to our Lit-Tea-Rary Tea Party, or joining in to from home, for donating to our Givealittle, and for buying books and blind dates throughout the month 🫖📖

It’s hard to believe it’s only been a week since our tea party and book swap fundraiser but that means it’s time to announce the winners from our Read for a Cause fundraiser.

These wonderful people and many others all donated to our givealittle this month and their names were drawn randomly and each has won a prize for their contributions:

We’ve been busy doing some long weekend tidying and we have nearly 90 books at reduced prices with roughly half available for $3 or less!

A quick refresher if you’re not sure how it works:

Our bargain books are books that have been on the website for a couple of months and been discounted and our clearance section of books which are books which we have heavy reduced with almost all being priced between $1 and $3

Just popping on during a rest break (break from resting, that is, because that will be my reality for a wee while) to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who joined us yesterday! 🫖📖

We had such a fun afternoon between a surprisingly competitive bookish bingo, a fantastic book swap, and some awesome paper rose and blackout poetry creations.

And some great food and drinks too, of course 😍

Thank you also to everyone who joined from home - because of you, we’ve officially hit our Givealittle goal of $350 for !

We’ll keep the Givealittle open until the end of the month, in case you want to take your own ‘me time for M.E.’ this week, and then tally up all our fundraising totals to share.

While I’m resting up and recovering from the event, we will have a book drop tomorrow, otherwise we’ll be busy day dreaming of when and where we could hold our next bookish event 💙
