Love a delivery road trip at this time of year!
“The Gentle Annie” usually refers to the spectacular inland road between Taihape and Napier — officially much of it is the Taihape–Napier Road / SH50.
It’s one of New Zealand’s classic back-country drives:
• around 140–150 km
• high-country stations, huge views, very little traffic
• lots of winding sections and elevation changes
• popular with motorcyclists, cyclists, photographers and campers
