🌹 FROM QUARANTINE TO OUR ROSE TEST GARDENS🌹

After two years in quarantine, we have roses being released! 🌱

During their time in quarantine, MPI inspects the roses four times, and every variety must successfully pass two rounds of laboratory testing to ensure they’re free from pests and diseases before they can be released.

Once released from quarantine, each rose is planted in our Rose Test Gardens, alongside hundreds of other varieties from breeders around the world.

For at least three years, we carefully evaluate every rose, closely monitoring their performance.

Only the exceptional roses earn a place in our collection. ❤️🌹

🌹 How to Prune a Climbing Rose

Climbing roses aren’t pruned the same way as bush roses—and getting it right means more flowers next season!

✨ Start by removing any dead, damaged or diseased growth.

✨ Keep the long, healthy main canes that form the framework of your climber. These are the branches that will produce flowers for years to come.

✨ Cut the side shoots (laterals) back to 2–4 buds from the main cane. This encourages masses of fresh flowering growth.

✨ If your climber is becoming crowded, remove one or two of the oldest canes at the base to make room for new ones.

✨ Finally, gently tie the main canes in as horizontally as possible. The more horizontal the canes, the more flowering shoots they’ll produce along their length.
