Did you know you can customise your sneakers with temporary tattoos?! 👟🔥

Yep… apparently plain white sneakers are now a blank canvas and people are adding floral designs, butterflies, vintage prints and all sorts of cool little details using temporary tattoos and decals. Honestly kinda genius.

Perfect way to give an old pair of sneakers a new vibe without spending a fortune ✨

BUT please do your own research first and always spot test your shoes before trying anything at home, especially with leather, suede, delicate fabrics or designer shoes. Different materials react differently and we’d hate for anyone to accidentally ruin a favourite pair.

After our recent shoe post, we went down a little shoe-cleaning rabbit hole and found some easy home hacks people swear by 👟✨

A few simple ones we came across:

• Baking soda can help freshen white sneakers
• A soft toothbrush works well for gentle scrubbing
• White vinegar is often used on some suede stains
• Pencil erasers can help lift little scuff marks on suede
• Stuffing shoes with paper towels while drying can help hold their shape

BUT definitely do your own research first before trying anything at home, especially with leather, suede, nubuck, designer or delicate shoes. Different materials need different care and sometimes the wrong cleaner can do more harm than good.

These are just a few handy home tips we found and thought were worth sharing with our fellow shoe lovers 💕👠👢

📢 COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER CALL OUT 📢

The Waikato Women’s Refuge - Te Whakaruruhau Opportunity Shop in Hamilton East is being reset and we are building a strong, capable volunteer team to help turn it into a thriving retail space that supports women and whānau across our region.

We are looking for a new kind of volunteer! This is not just about helping out. This is about bringing real skills into a space that needs energy, experience and momentum.

We are looking for the following volunteers:

💜 A Volunteer Team Leader who can help coordinate others and lift standards (this could turn into a paid role).

💜 Senior/Retired people with retail or fashion experience who understand how to present products and work with customers.

💜 People with business thinking who can help with pricing, product flow and making the shop perform.

💜 Social media savvy individuals who can create simple daily content and tell our story (we are looking for a diverse team).

💜 Someone to manage and grow our Trade Me presence.

💜 Warm, engaging people who can be on the floor and create a great in-store experience.

If you have one day a week or even a few hours to contribute and want to be part of something that genuinely makes a difference, we would love to hear from you.
