The devastating Monday morning 7.8 earthquake not only destroyed Sarah Black's Waiau home, but also her "dream" gift shop.

Her home has been red stickered, meaning it is unsafe to return to.

Black had just recently opened her "dream shop" Gifts on the Green located at Waiau's Village Green historical church.

But the earthquakes have claimed that dream. She is closing the shop indefinitely while she tries to concentrate on her red-stickered home.

At least 10 homes have been red-stickered in the small town that was the epicentre of the monster 7.8 earthquake.

Friends and friends are rallying to try and get all of Black's heavily discounted stock sold to help out.

The response has been tremendous, but they still have a bit of stock to go. Check out the Gifts on the Green page if you think there may be something there to take your fancy.

Our syrups look great on the shelves of 'Gifts on the Green'.

Look at the deliciousness that has just arrived! Out in the Wild syrups and cordials which have been made in Hanmer Springs. $12 for a 250ml bottle. The syrups can be diluted as a drink or drizzled over ice cream or yoghurt. YUM!

We will be at the market in Hanmer Springs on Saturday selling our fruit syrups and cordials. Come along and see us for a tasting and buy some of our delicious syrups. Use them to make refreshing drinks or drizzle them over yoghurt or icecream. Yum! 😀

We stock our fruit syrups and cordials in the Kaikoura cheese shop featured on Country Calendar. If you watch closely enough you can see them on the shelves. 😀

A Maturing Enterprise: A city couple move to rural Kaikoura, learn to farm goats and make their own award-winning cheese, which they sell to restaurants and from their own shop.
