Spring Cleaning: Walls & Skirtings 🧽

Family life (and one very enthusiastic dog) gives our walls a real hammering. Every time he pushes the door open, he rubs right along the wall on his way in — muck and all!

Here's how we tackle it: Castile Cleaning Soap + warm water, a decent mop, and some elbow grease from Paul! Finish with a damp cloth and our Natural Cleaning Spray for that final touch. ✨

Spring Cleaning, Week 2: Start at the top! 🧽✨

This week I've got the best helper on the job, my husband Paul! As an experienced painter, he's serious about his walls (and honestly, who better to teach me the right way to clean them?).

Walls need a good clean at least once a year, but it's especially important before painting. Getting rid of built-up grime and yes, fly poo, makes all the difference for a smooth finish.

🌼 Spring cleaning doesn't have to mean a whole weekend gone. A few five-minute jobs that make a real difference:

🌿 The coffee table: clear off the books, kids' toys, and clutter, then give it a good spray and wipe down with our Natural Cleaning Spray.

🌿 The "dumping chair" you know the one. Where clothes you've worn once (and could wear again) pile up over time. Sort it, hang it back up, done.

TIP: for the toys, kids' stuff is a major area to keep tidy, and it's a great chance to teach your kids to respect and look after their things. Get them to help you put toys away before you expect them to do it solo. It only takes a minute or two, and it builds a habit that sticks.

👍 Five minutes here and there is all it takes. Decluttering those little spots makes such a difference to how your space feels. It's what turns a house into a home, and does wonders for your head space too.

Spring cleaning doesn't need to be a big production. Just make a point of tackling the small stuff. 🌱

Okay, I need your help! 🌿

I'm on the hunt for a new mop (or two) and I know you must have the best low-tox, sustainable recommendations.

1️⃣ What's your favourite mop for FLOORS?
2️⃣ Does anyone have a good mop for WALLS? (Scuff marks, greasy kitchen splatters, handprints from the whole whānau... you know the ones.)

Ideally something that plays nicely with Castile Cleaning Soap, so no weird foaming issues or residue. Reusable/washable heads and low plastic are a bonus, since I'd rather it last than end up in landfill.
